Y’all do realize there is a weight limit on the shelf, right? My shopping would never fit on top. I use the bag hooks to keep things from sliding, but I guess I’m one of the few that uses the shelf to conceal what I may have put in the back.
Ya about 30lbs I recall and I mostly use it to conceal things. The moving blankets help with that too. My groceries easily are under 30lbs because I buy mostly greens like Kale. And stuff bought from Costco almost never can go on the CMS shelf?️‍♂

nice CARGO MANAGEMENT SYSTEM video here.

This cargo net isn't for the shelf, but useful to put things in so they don't slide around. We're using one from an old Mazda MPV we hung onto. Works pretty slick.

Maybe this would work for the top shelf, but probably not an exact fit.

I don't remember, are the hooks on the side above the top shelf? If so, something like that, or measure the distance between hooks and find a universal cargo net with similar dimensions.

Nice find!

Plastidip! I did mine last winter. Been meaning to post about it but never did.

Was cooking on a camp stove last winter and the dang stove kept sliding around. Picked up some plastidip, sprayed the top, and it works awesome. Super simple to spray, tough as nails, and can use the CMS as designed. The dip is thin enough that it folds just the same and it's got great tack. Been a bit of a game changer.

On the Badlands we bought, the plastic divider came standard
The Cargo Management System was never standard on any trim model. It was always and still is an extra cost option.

I wish the cargo management system was available on outerbanks models in 2021. I'm trying to build my own with ply wood and folding legs. I plan to use a cheap roll of outdoor carpet to keep things from sliding. FYI, 3 milk crates fit side by side.

That's all I wanted it for as well, but forgot to order CMS for $195 with the dealer. So I'm busy ordering every kind of net, organizer, accessory you can think of when all I probably need is a black blanket. Groceries can be stabilized but I never thought that shelf on the CMS would hold packages.

I don't have any problems with stuff sliding around because I ordered the extra cargo liner "system" for the bed and the seat backs as I have dogs. It works really well! The pics aren't mine but they show the exact pieces. Super easy install, just lay it in the cargo area. The seat back liners easily snap in.

My wife uses a trunk storage organizer. It folds up when you don't need it, and keeps things from rolling around.

I thought the CMS was a good idea, but I'm disappointed in it. It is too low to fit my totes, so I never use it. The lips on the sides that hold it just take up cargo space.

Pretty much my experience. I like that it covers the cargo area but that's about it. Reusable shopping bags don't fit under it and 90% of the time it's stashed between the rear seat and cargo area. I will say that's a nice touch- it fits perfectly there when not in use.

Is that stuff another decontent option? Those came as standard on my 2021 Big Bend. And they are nifty.

I picked up a couple of collatable crates from Amazon for underneath and a bathroom rug on the top.

But, I will add, the CMS can be more of a pain than a benefit sometimes. I rarely carry things on the top.

It came with a lined cargo area but it isn't as grippy nor deep as the fitted insert I purchased. Plus I wanted the added protection on the backs of my rear seats. The purchased liner pops right out so cleaning is easy. I found some pics to show the difference, my car isn't nearby for me to use it. The first pic is the original built-in liner and the second is the purchased liner.

The CMS also came with my new 2023 HLE - I've folded the shelf in the storage position up against the rear seats to gain more space in the cargo area.
That's what I was going to do too, but forgot to order the CMS three months ago and can't add after the fact. I'm so disappointed the dealership didn't go over that with me.
