Doing your own oil change? Be ready to spend 15–20 minutes just removing the underbody protection to get to the oil filter. It’s not hard, but it’s definitely not "quick lube" friendly.
Here’s where they’ll mess up:
First to go are the Torx Plus TP40 bolts on the bumper — not regular Torx, and most places won’t have the right bit.
Next up, the 10mm bolts are prone to rounding if you're not careful or using the right tools.
Then come the 13mm bolts, and good luck breaking those loose without an impact — mine were torqued to hell with blue Loctite.
You have to remove the lower steel bumper first, then slide the skid plate forward to get it off clean. If you don’t, you’ll be stuck trying to hold the skid plate’s full weight while lining up bolts again — not fun.
So yeah... DIY is totally doable, just take your time and don’t rush it. Quick oil places? Expect stripped bolts and a headache next time you crawl under.
