Ford Bronco Sport Navigation Maps NA 2 24 Coming May 12 IMG_4823

Navigation Maps NA 2 24 has been found online and added to CyanLabs Syn3 updater.

NA 2 24 is not yet available directly from Ford but should be available for download or purchase of a USB flash drive very soon.

CyanLabs is a 3rd party application that offers SYNC 3 users a path to upgrade SNYC. This is not a Ford website or Ford application. The SYNC software is from Ford, but the upgrade method is not. I do not use CyanLabs to update SYNC or Navigation Maps. I choose to utilize the official Ford method to keep SYNC and Navigation Maps up to date.

Every 21-24 Bronco Sport is equipped with SYNC 3.4 and the current Build (version) is 23188. If you are not currently on this Build, you need to update. Earlier Build versions have issues. Some have serious issues.

https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/sync-3-4-build-23188-is-the-current-version.11594/

Navigation was an available option on 21-24 Bronco Sport vehicles. My vehicle came with 3 years of Map updates at no charge. This means I had 3 years of opportunities to update the Maps at no charge. After that, I have to pay a fee to download the update. Navigation Map updates are released once a year. The current Map update is NA 2 23. The new for 2025 Map update is NA 2 24.

Revised
2025 Bronco Sport vehicles utilize SYNC 4 which is an entirely different system. Some 2025 Bronco Sport vehicles offer optional Ford Connected Navigation. This is fee based and cloud based.

https://www.broncosportforum.com/forum/threads/navigation-options-with-sync-4-for-2025-models.14052/

I will create a new thread when NA 2 24 Navigation Maps is available directly from Ford.

So, are you saying after 3 years, if you still want updates on Sync4, we'll have to pay for that?

With SYNC 3.4 and SYNC 4, you receive 3 years of Navigation Map updates at no charge. (3 years of opportunities to update with SYNC 3.4)

You will always get updates to SYNC 3.4 and SYNC 4 at no charge.

Also, I'm guessing if connected to Android Auto, you can use those maps!

With your 2025 Bronco Sport you can utilize the built-in navigation maps as part of SYNC 4 or you can plug in using a USB cable or Bluetooth wireless to use CarPlay with Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze. You can also do the same with Android Auto to use Google Maps or Waze.

Built-in navigation with SYNC 4 does not require a phone present.

Per the 2025 order guide the 25 Bronco Sport comes with sync 4 and optional
Connected Navigation with 1-Year Subscription included, Pinch-to-Zoom Capability, Live Traffic, Predictive Destinations and Route Guidance, and One Box Search

After the subscription expires the navigation will revert to just a moving map as indicated below. After that you will need to either pay for the annual subscription or use another navigation service through car play.

It is interesting that the 2025 BS order guide mentions a 1 year subscription and the Ford support website say 90 days trial. I checked a 25 Badlands window sticker with the Tech Package (which includes the navigation) but I did not see the navigation trial period listed so I am assuming 1 year unless someone with a 25 with navigation has some additional information.

The Connected Built-Navigation was on earlier models with sync 4. I believe this version's map will still work without a subscription but you will need the subscription to access map updates. I do not believe this option is available on current models. Doesn't really matter on this forum since the connected built-in version is not available on the 25 Bronco Sport.

Connected Built-in Navigation (3 Years of Service)**
  • Begins a 3-year free trial on the vehicle's Warranty Start Date, not the date the modem is activated
  • Reverts to Embedded Navigation with no Connected Navigation services (e.g., live traffic) if a subscription is not purchased after the trial ends
  • Updates full map yearly and "home zone" quarterly while service is active
  • Provides navigation in "cellular dead zones"

Included on 25 Bronco Sport:
Connected Navigation (90-Day Trial)†
  • Begins a 90-day free trial on the vehicle's Warranty Start Date, not the date the modem is activated
  • Reverts to a "moving map" with no destination routing functionality if a subscription is not purchased after the trial ends
  • Updates full map yearly and "home zone" quarterly while service is active
  • Provides navigation in "cellular dead zones"

To keep this topic relevant, let’s start a new thread discussing SYNC 4 and navigation options.

Unless I misread your post #3, you mentioned both sync 3 and sync 4 includes a 3 year subscription. I was just correcting that statement. There are already other posts discussing sync 4 navigation in at least 1 recent thread Old vs New old-vs-new.13582.

I never used the word subscription.

This is what I wrote.

“With SYNC 3.4 and SYNC 4, you receive 3 years of Navigation Map updates at no charge. (3 years of opportunities to update with SYNC 3.4)”

I am talking about the Navigation Map updates, not the Navigation service.

Yes, that is what you wrote: With SYNC 3.4 and SYNC 4, you receive 3 years of Navigation Map updates at no charge. You didn't use the word subscription but you did say that sync 4 gets 3 years of Navigation Map updates. at no charge. I was posting to corrected the comment which is inaccurate in regards to the 25 Bronco Sport with sync 4 and added an explanation of where my information came from. After the 1 year included subscription period sync 4 will require a subscription or the navigation system wide just revert to a moving map.

If you have different information that supports your statement that you posted that both sync 3.4 and sync 4 receive 3 years of navigation map updates at no charge I would appreciate you posting that information.

When we purchased our 2025 Sport, we were told the navigation that came with it was free for 1 year, after that we would have to pay a yearly fee to use it. But we've been using our Android Auto with the Google maps and it works great!!

Yes, Thankfully that is an option to avoid the annual subscription fee with sync 4 and while I do not use car play myself, my son uses car play for navigation and he prefers it over the built in navigation on his 20 Escape.

CarPlay/Android Auto are wireless on the '25's; that's a big selling point of Sync 4.

Agreed!! I almost bought a 24 assuming it was wireless until I found it it wasn't and that the 25s were going to be wireless. Plus hearing about the larger screen and the 360 cameras being added as an option, I'm glad I waited!!
