Hi, i bought a 2024 bronco sport for my son and am debating on buying the extended ford warranty. How do these things run with that little 3 cylinder? Looks pretty easy to work on, but are they expensive to fix and are they at least somewhat reliable. Consumer reports doesnt thin so... Also, anything to look out for with these things? i didnt do a ton a research before buying which is on me, but i can still get the ford extended warranty. Thanks

If you are going to get an extended warranty. Make sure you get the actual Ford ESP. Personally, the best price currently is with Granger Ford.

I normally didn’t believe in extended warranties but I’m putting so few miles on these days it made sense especially with the low cost from Granger Ford. It’s still an insurance policy and they don’t sell them to loose money but I tend to keep my cars a long time and history has shown me the failures seem to occur right away or somewhere in the 5-7 year range.

These new vehicles rely heavily on electronics and in my opinion more difficult and expensive to repair. The headlights alone are ~1500.00. Seems like a few more issues with the 1.5 vs the 2.0 but then they have sold 3-4x more of the 1.5’s vs. the 2.0’s.

I think mine ran fine stock but i like it a lot more since i installed the JMS Pedal Max Throttle Device.Throttle response is greatly improved compared to how it was stock and it's much more enjoyable to drive IMO.

There are no cheap repairs on newer vehicles. I have the Ford ESP on my 21 BB. I have a gut feeling it will pay for itself in the end.

Easy decision on getting an extended warranty or not on a BS. Getting a discounted online Ford warranty is a no-brainer, especially with the 1.5L.

I'll buy online from Flood Ford like I have in the past. The whole transaction is done online. with Granger, you have to call and the number was different than seen on their site. Maybe I got a rep that didn't know much but it was a turn off.

Do you care to share what the difference in cost was between Flood Ford and Granger?

How many years/miles did you opt for?

These 3 are competitive when comparing the same Ford ESP terms: Flood Ford, Granger Ford, Zeigler Ford (there are others as well). Compare all 3 on the day you purchase the warranty as very often one might be ~$50 cheaper for same terms.

I bought from Zeigler because their PAYINFULL PROMO CODE net savings was $50 vs. the other 2 I listed.

Thank you. I really like my BS Outer Banks but my husband is not a fan. I've been talking to him about getting the extended warranty (I'm at 26,400 and 3 years ends this September) because I like it so much but it's had it's issues - many of which I read about here. He thinks I should look for something else and save the warranty money. I don't want to. I'm hoping the warranty will help with peace of mind.....

I bought from Zeigler as well. I used the PAYINFULL promo code too. I had the experience of purchasing from Zeigler for the 23 Escape that I had and had to cancel the extended warranty 6 months later when I no longer had the car. I called Zeigler about how to go about it and they explained everything is online. Very easy to do. I had the refund check about a week later. I was so happy with the experience that when I purchased the my BS I went back to Zeigler for the extended warranty. Originally I did comparison of the few major dealers that sell the ESP online and all were within $50. In my opinion regardless of what you hear about them being a waste of money, new vehicles repair costs are always expensive and having the peace of mind with the Ford ESP is priceless especially since I try and keep my cars for as long as possible.

Granger can all be done online as well. Pricing is also readily available online. But, Flood and Ziegler are very similar is cost. Flood was 100 over MSRP, Granger currently is 25 over cost. I’m not sure about Ziegler but I know they are in the same ballpark. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of those three.
