Just dropped off the Sport for a dealer oil change and asked if they use Forscan, and could eliminate the double-horn-honk. They said yes - but Forscan is not working because of the sanctions....... Googled it sure enough...... Didn't know Forscan came out of Russia. Going to ask around at repair shops if they have working Forscan.

FORScan license sales for Windows and Android versions have been suspended due to global sanctions against Russia. The payment processor, PayPro Global, is unable to facilitate payments to Russian banks, making it impossible to process FORScan license purchases. This situation has affected FORScan's ability to sell extended licenses for Windows and Android, as they are not compatible with the free, scanner/code-clearing version.

You can edit things with IDS as well... dealer use that.

No reputable dealers would use a russian tool that is bypassing Ford encryption. But you can!

Doesn't make me feel good about the Forscan software people post they use on this site.........
I've use it since 2014 (before I used FoCCCus, even more underground russian tool), it is legit but again there is a risk. If someone doesn't know what they are doing they can brick the BCM or any other modules.?

And so I learn another term - how to turn your BCM or other mudules into a brick - and not covered under warranty.

It's pretty easy to tell if someone has tampered with a vehicle's parameters because the Ford AS-BUILT data — think of it like your vehicle’s digital window sticker with all the factory settings — can be compared to what's currently in the car.

Example: If your car originally had the double honk feature enabled from the factory, but now it doesn’t, a comparison between the factory AS-BUILT data and the current configuration will reveal that change.

I’m not sure how thoroughly Ford investigates if there's an issue with a module, but one thing’s for sure: if they determine it’s been tampered with, your warranty on that part could be void. I'm not trying to scare you — just giving a heads-up that if something goes wrong, you might be responsible for the repair costs.

Thanks for the input. I have a tower PC. Is there such a thing as a 50' long cord to stretch to your driveway? Or will some cheap $40 laptop work like Dell chromebook or HP chrome book? What OBD plug-in do I need? Or is there 1 plug-in you can get that acts as the laptop too?
