  1. Windshield and rear wipers

My rear window wiper was beginning to tear. It lasted 24 months, typical, no complaints there. The front ones were doing ok but we’re starting to feel stiff at the tips and old man winter is knocking at my door so it was time for a new set of wipers. I stopped at Car Quest in Murphy NC to find a...
  2. Our world is changing.

My trusty old won’t die back up car is a 2004 Ford Escape AWD and I cannot get a rotary blade coupler. No longer made, used is not an option for many reasons. But this tale is not about that. Read on peoples. The pressurized Coolant tank cracked, steaming away from the small soon to get bigger...
  3. FordPass app service history

I took a look at my service history and it was crazy. It said I spent $495 at 500 miles. Not true. I considered my rubber floor Matt’s or my rear deck mat being part of this but nope I did those at different times. I had my floor Matt’s in before I hit 100 miles. Said I’ve had two alignments at...
  4. 89 Octane and hot weather.

I read somewhere that in really hot weather higher octane can make a performance difference under certain conditions. I’ve been on 89 for two tanks now and can feel a difference. Mpg’s are no different, still averaging 25.5 mpg in my Appalachian mountains. I am NOT granny driving nor am I lead...

  10. Antifreeze

At almost 14,000 miles I just added about 15 oz of 50/50 mixed Prestone antifreeze to the cooling system. It was below the minimum mark just a little. I’ve added a little like this to many cars I’ve owned. Not worried but I’ll watch it, Doing about a 300 mile ride In a couple of days.

Ok peoples , quick heads up/warning. I’m at 10,800 miles and my tread depth gage shows I’m just barely still in the green. All tread channels are about even at 6 mm tread depth. I think they started out at 10mm. I stay on proper psi but have lots of curves and gravel. I was hoping for 20,000...

  15. Remote start over wifi with the Fordpass app observation.

If I am out messing with my Sport during the day, playing the radio windows down, then up when I'm done, remote start will not work the next morning. 20. Slippery GOAT mode rocks (my review)

My very steep loose gravel roads are getting dry now. All of the RWD and FWD cars can no longer take the steeper short cut up to their cabins. Only 4x4's can make it up that section now. I can feel a definite difference from the normal drive mode and the slippery Goat mode with the low gear...
